In DBZ another story the saiyan race has yet to be destroyed along with their planet. They are still under the control of Frieza and the Cold Family however. Planet Vegeta is mostly desert with many villages and one huge city. King Vegeta rules it with an iron fist.

This is the planet the changelings live on. It is a very harsh enviroment that not everyone could survive on. It is covered in ice and snow and extremely cold. It doesn't bother the changelings at all though.
